Glasgow - City of Sculpture

(b. 1954)

Born in Glencoe, he trained at Sunderland Art School, 1972-3, and GSA , 1973-76.

He occcupies studios at the Glasgow Sculpture Studios; Argyle; and in Eire, producing kinetic sculptures, lightworks and video installations.

He worked with artist Peter Howson in Bosnia as a war artist, 1993-94, exhibiting drawings in the joint Message from Bosnia Touring Exhibition, Dick Institute, Kilmarnock, 1994.

Recent commissions include Fishers of Men, Shankill Castle, Eire (1993), Monarch of the Glen, Aboyne (1994), and The Cockerel, a Millennium Milepost for Britain, commissioned by Sustrans (1997).

He has exhibited at the Lannon Gallery, New York, 1996; Origin Gallery, Dublin, 1998; and DFDZ Heidleberg, 1998.

His current short listings include a Road Corridor Public Sculpture for Stirling Town Council, and a light sculpture for Edinburgh's Fruitmarket.
