Affixed to the south-east wall of Glasgow University's Department of Civil Engineering, Lucy Baird's competition winning sculpture commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Regius Chair of Civil Engineering and Mechanics. The sculpture was fabricated in stainless steel by Leeway Forbes, of Edinburgh, and was erected over a three-day period from 17th September 1990, with no ceremony to mark the occasion.
