Glasgow - City of Sculpture

Jim Buckley
(b. 1957)

Born in Cork, he studied sculpture there at Crawford's School of Art, 1975-80, and has participated in international conferences on sculpture and exhibited work throughout Europe and in the USA.

The Winner of the 1984 Benno Schotz Prize, he has collected awards from a variety of sponsors and arts organisations including an Arts Council Travel Award, 1984, and the Royal Bank of Scotland Prize, GIA , 1987.

In 1988, he contributed Red Gates to the Glasgow Garden Festival and, in 1990, as part of the City of Culture celebrations, he produced the Dennistoun Milestone (1991).

He is a co-founder and co-director of Glasgow Sculpture Studios Ltd, and is represented in major private and public collections.
